Meeting called to order 7:30 pm
1. Opening Prayer: Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2011
2. Approval of Minutes:
- Minutes of Thursday, November 11, 2010 were adopted as circulated. Moved by Amabile Dal Monte and seconded by Don Kelly.
3. Cards:
A “Get Well” card for Bishop Wiesner was circulated was for signing.
4. Projects(s)/Standing Committees:
BC Hydro Rebates:
- Frank Mauro was getting information from Carrons’ Electric regarding rebates for the installation of energy efficient fluorescent lights as many of the fixtures in the church need replacing.
Finance Report:
- A finance report was circulated by Susana. After some discussion it was requested that the finance committee provide more detail on expenses.
Youth Room:
- All work has been completed and the room is currently being used by the school for a music room.
Church Hall Floor:
- The floor was to be cleaned February 5th by a group of men from the parish.
5. Business Arising from Minutes
APEX DVD:
- (Asset Protection Insurance Exchange) APEX is the insurance company that is used by the Diocese of Prince George. It offers equitable insurance for all parishes of all sizes and specializes in church properties. The DVD explained how the company operates and why they were formed.
Revised Roman Missal Workshop:
- A workshop in being held at Sacred Heart Parish in Terrace on February 11 and 12. It is open to everyone; please encourage other members of the parish to attend.
Hall Rental:
- The rental by the Minor Hockey parents has been cancelled. They may reschedule at a later date.
Parish Website:
- It was suggested that it needed more pictures and a more modern website. Susana was to meet with Steve Leite to see what he could do. Perhaps we need to get a different provider for the website.
Lenten Parish Mission:
- Father Rectorino from Smithers has offered to do a Lenten Mission on the Gift of Our Baptism, April 13 – 15. It was unanimously agreed to accept his offer.
25th Anniversary of Church Building:
- The 25th Anniversary of the Church Building is in May 2012. Susana asked for ideas and suggestions on how to celebrate this event. It was suggested that it be a yearlong celebration with activities building up to the actual anniversary celebration date.
