PRAYER SCHEDULE

- Rosary – 1st Tuesday of every month, led by the Knights of Columbus
- Charismatic Prayer – Every Thursday evening after Mass.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: The next meeting of the parish pastoral council will be on Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 pm in the church hall.
WANT TO INCREASE YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION? Faith sharing sessions will be offered, these will take place on: Thursday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 29 from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in the church hall. These sessions are open to anyone in the parish, especially those with children preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
REMEMBRANCE DAY: Mass on Remembrance Day, November 11 will be offered at 10 am.
BLESSING OF GRAVES: The blessing of graves at the cemetery will be on Sunday, November 6 at 2 pm.
PARISH MUSIC MINISTRY WORKSHOP: Members of the parish music ministry will be hosting a workshop on Friday, November 11 from 1:30 pm to 4 pm in the Church. Music ministers who attend the Diocesan Workshop will be sharing what they learned and how the changes to the Roman Missal will affect our own parish music ministry. Time has also been set aside to learn the new mass parts. This is open to everyone in the parish. Come one and all.
ALTAR SERVERS: Our new recruits will be serving for their very first time over the coming weeks. Parishioners are invited to support and encourage them. Thank you to the children and youth who so faithfully serve our parish community. Practices continue each Wednesday afternoon from 3 to 4 pm. If your son or daughter is interested, please join us for practices or contact the parish office for information.
GRAND CATHOLIC ITALY TOUR 2012: Fr. Rectorino of St. Joseph’s Parish and Fr. Venerando Sabacan of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Chetwynd in cooperation with Advange MacKenzie Travel Service in Smithers has organized a tour of Rome to Venice. The tour will take place on May 15-25, 2012. We are inviting interested parishioners to join us! For more information please contact: Fr. Rector at 250-847-2012, Fr. WE PRAY FOR: Sr Mary Gonzaga Wheartley, RSM, died at 5 a.m. Thursday October 27, 2011 at the Convent of Mercy in Callan, Co Kilkenny, Ireland. Prayers will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday and the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Sr. Gonzaga was among the first five Sisters of Mercy who arrived in Prince George in 1957. Over the next 44 years she served in Fort St. James, Vanderhoof and Prince George before returning to Ireland. We pray with gratitude for her joyful life of service as we pray for the repose of her soul. “She has gone no further from us than to God – and God is ever near.”
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS/LECTORS (READERS): An important information session for all Eucharistic Minister and Lectors (Readers) will take place on Tuesday, November 22 at 7:30 pm in the church. This is to share important information about how the changes in the GIRM (General Instruction of the Roman Missal) will affect what we currently do in our parish. Anyone NEW who is interested in serving as either a eucharistic minister or lector should come out to this session.
PARISH ADVENT MISSION

LAST DAY TO ORDER: A reminder for parishioners who are interested in ordering from the Purdy’s Christmas Catalogue that the last day to place your order is Friday, November 18. Orders can be made following weekend masses or by coming by the parish office.
PARISH ADVENT RECONCILIATION SERVICE: A date has been set for our Advent Reconciliation service, please mark Wednesday, December 7 on your calendar. Visiting priests will be available to hear confessions from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Additional information will be forthcoming in future bulletins.
YEAR OF FAITH: Pope Benedict has announced that the Church will hold a “Year of Faith”. This special year is to help Catholics appreciate the gift of faith, deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their commitment to sharing faith with others. The observance would begin October 11, 2012 – the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council – and conclude November 24, 2012 – the feast of Christ the King. Pope Benedict’s intention is more fully explained in Porta Fidei (The Door of Faith) released on October 17.
COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CAROLING: Christ the King Parish will host this year’s community Christmas caroling on Sunday, December 4. Additional information will be made available to parishioners and music ministers in the coming weeks.
ENTERTAINMENT NEEDED: Entertainers are needed for the Feast of Christ the King, on Sunday, 20 November following the 11:15 am mass. If you have a talent: sing, play a musical instrument, drama, storyteller, dance. Then we want to hear from you! Please give the office a call to arrange for a performance time.
MUSICIANS AND SINGERS NEEDED: Can you sing or carry a tune? Can you play a musical instrument? Catherine Bilina is looking for singers and musicians who would like to come together to sing at Mass occasionally and have a fun and enjoyable time together. Need more information or would like to volunteer, call Catherine at 632-2490. She is looking forward to your call!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: A reminder to all Knight members, please make an effort to attend mass on November 8 at 7pm in Blazer.
CWL NEWS
1. November Monthly meeting in the Church Hall on Tuesday, November 8th following the 7pm Mass. All members are encouraged to attend!
2. Many Thanks go out to Ron and Jenny Lechner ( Kitimat Pizza Factory) who cooked our homemade pizzas in their store ovens for the Bazaar! This was a great help and we appreciate it !
3. For the benefit of the parish and all those non-members who came out to help us, the Bazaar profit was $4,580.00. This does not include the 50/50 monies raised and distributed to the winner and the Parish Building Fund.
4. Lastly, for the next two Sundays, after the masses, the Religious Goods store will have a PRE ADVENT Sale of Christmas cards and calendars for 2012 and other seasonal items.
