PRAYER SCHEDULE

  • Daily Mass or when Father Kenneth is not available, Liturgy of the Word.
  • Rosary – 1st Tuesday of every month, led by the Knights of Columbus
  • Charismatic Prayer – Every Thursday evening after Mass.
  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – On the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th (when applicable) Fridays of each month.

ATTENTION: Charismatic prayer group will be breaking for the summer after the meeting on June 23rd. Have a blessed summer!

LECTORS/READERS: Please pick up your new list in the church foyer. If you have been scheduled at a time that you will be out of town you must arrange for someone to trade with you or to read for you. A phone list is provided on the back of the schedule.

WILL YOU BE MOVING OR LEAVING DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS: Please let the parish office know if you will be moving or leaving the community during the summer months. This helps us to keep our parish records/directory up to date for any mail outs or other correspondence that is sent out.

ROSE PRINCE PILGRIMAGE: The annual Rose Prince Pilgrimage will be held on July 8, 9 and 10. Guest speaker this year is: Sr. Kateri Mitchell, SSA. A complete schedule of events, include accommodation phone numbers is on the bulletin board.

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: The bereavement ministry is pleased to congratulate Linda Horianopoulos and Kaitlyn Hartmann on being awarded the 2011 Arleigh Slanina Memorial Scholarship.

CANADA DAY: Mass on Canada Day (July 1) will be celebrated at 10 am.

CAMP MORICE: Is happy to announce the dates for its Summer Camps. Experience the most beautiful and amazing place in northern BC! Kids Camp 1: July 10-15, Teen Camp: July 17-23, Kids Camp 2: July 24-29, Cana Camp: August 7-13, and Family Camps: August 14-27. For more information and to register, go to: www.campmorice.com. CHURCH ETIQUETTE: When we come to participate in the celebration of the Eucharist we are entering the House of the Lord. It is important to recognize the holiness and sacredness of our liturgies and to ensure the comfort of those who are gathered. A gentle reminder as we head into the summer months. Remember to dress modestly. NO tank tops, short skirts or short shorts please.

MOUNTAINVIEW LODGE/MULTI-LEVEL CARE: The staff has asked us to remind all parishioners who attend mass at the hospital that it is a FRAGRANCE FREE ZONE. Please remember no perfumes, hairspray or other strong scents that may cause people to become ill.

COLLECTION COUNTERS NEEDED: The parish is in need of several more collection counters to help out once every seven weeks. If you are interested and can volunteer your time, please contact the parish office.

SAFE PARISH COMMUNITY: Thank you to everyone who attend the information meeting on Tuesday evening. If you are a volunteer in the parish and have not attended one of the information sessions that have been offered, please contact the parish office.

MUSIC WORKSHOP: There will be a diocesan music workshop held at the Diocesan Centre in Prince George September 23-24 for all music ministers. The workshop will review the new Mass settings included in the parish resource Celebrate in Song, published by the CCCB, and review the Church’s guidelines for music. Some financial assistance will be available to those who would like to participate.

CHRIST THE KING FOUNDATION AND ROOF DRAIN PROJECT: Thank you for your patience during this construction phase and for respecting the change to parking. Please continue to be patient with one another during this construction time and please keep pick up and drop off times in front of the church to as short as possible as we could see increased traffic in front of the church. Thank you for your cooperation.

CHURCH AND HALL FIRE EXITS: Please note that for the remainder of the construction period the CHURCH EMERGENCY EXIT on the right side of the church has been blocked off and the CHURCH HALL EMERGENCY EXIT on the left side of the hall has also been blocked off. Please familiarize themselves with the nearest available church and hall emergency exits in case of emergency. In the event of an emergency, you will be directed to the closest emergency exits.

FEAST OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The parish thanks the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit and all parishioners who participated for their generous donation of $1,000 for the church building fund. Thank you for the beautiful celebration and the many volunteer hours that made the celebration possible. May God bless each of you.


VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Christ the King Parish welcomes you to come and join:

Kids for the King Adventures

When: - Monday, July 4 to Friday, July 8
Where: - Camp Good News (aka the Church Hall)
Time: - 9:00 to 12:00 noon
Cost: - $25 each (to cover supplies and snacks)
Age: - 5-11 years old

Registration forms will be coming out in the next 2 weeks watch for yours in the mail or through the school. Volunteers will be needed to help with various tasks. If you are interested call the office. Watch for our craft night and our list of needed craft items in the coming weeks.

VBS REGISTRATION: Have you registered your son or daughter? Registration forms have been sent out this week. You may also find a registration form online on our website. Please register before June 30, 2011. VBS will run from July 4 to 8, 2011 from 9 am to Noon each day. Registration fee is $25 per child. Children aged 5 to 11 are welcome to participate.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers to assist with our VBS are needed. Helpers are needed in the food, crafts and sports areas. If you would like to volunteer or need more information, please contact Susana at the parish office.

YOUTH HELPERS NEEDED: Are you in grades 8 to 12? Are you in grade 7 and interested in being a junior leader? Would you like to spend part of your summer being part of a great, fun program where you can share your gifts and talents with younger children? Then join us at Camp Good News! Contact Susana to volunteer.

CRAFT SUPPLIES WISH LIST: Here are some of the items that we are looking for this year are: coloured craft foam, wool, washable poster paint, craft paint brushes, and google eyes. Please drop off items at the parish office.

DECORATION ITEMS: These are some of the items that we are looking to borrow to decorate the church hall for our Camp Good News theme: fire wood, canoes (2), tents, tree stumps, wood branches, twigs, fishing rods, or any other items that people may have that can create our outdoor theme. Please call to arrange pickup/drop off.

VBS CRAFTS NIGHT: Mark your calendars for our crafts night on Monday, June 27 from 7 to 9 pm in the church hall. Helping hands will be needed for cutting, tracing and packaging. Please bring a pair of scissors for cutting craft foam, paper, etc.
